Cybernet Expo - 2005
- by LAJ, Ynot.com
This year the event will be using over 90% of the rooms at the beautiful Shelter Pointe Hotel on the tip of Shelter Island, with no other events happening on the premises. The outstanding location, facilities, wireless Internet access and timing of the event have set the stage for a phenomenal event - before anything else even figures into the big picture... |

Attending Trade Shows
- by Marc Laffer
Most adult websites begin with an idea and a dream. When the reality hit that it would require work to make the business grow, the cheap hosting companies got lots of sites that virtually get no traffic and few updates. Then, there are the successful sites that turn data into income. It's not magic to have a successful adult online business, but it is work... |

Adult industry trade fairs seem to be proliferating lately.
There are many available-each with its particular purpose,
characteristics and advantages/disadvantages depending on
what you mean to get out of it. As trade shows of all types
and sizes are making there debuts or exits-each year there
are still more and more. This makes selection harder than
ever... |

Here We Come... - Preview by
Kath Blackwell
See the work, time and energy that Fay Sharp, Dave Gould and
Alex Henderson have been putting into the Cybernet Expos for
seven years... Attracting webmasters in the hundreds - rather
than the thousands seen at the larger Expo-style events, or
the handfuls that attend the smaller regional gatherings -
these conferences blend education, business, pleasure and
networking in unique and beneficial ways. In fact, the buzz
on the boards already in 2004 is that both of these events
will become the "must attend" industry gatherings of the year,
with some webmasters saying it's about time... |

Yellow
Brick Road Leads to the Forum
- by Morgan Sommer & Tim Lutz
While it may appear that Cybersocket acted as a veritable
pied piper in leading gay adult companies to the Phoenix Forum,
it was really Patrick Curran and the CCBill family that were
most influential in getting us and other gay companies to
show up. We attended two years ago to be supportive of CCBill.
It's true that many companies were hesitant until we gave
them positive feedback about the show's value-how it is unquestionably
worth the time and money to attend. Not to mention that we
found it to be one of the most energetic adult industry shows
of the year... |

Go
West to Cybernet Expo (2004)
- Preview by LAJ, YNOTMasters.com
In this industry, first impressions are always important,
but not nearly as important as lasting impressions. Positive
public perception, substantial hype, and most importantly
- the quality of the product itself are critical factors to
its survival in the future. Now in its seventh year, the Cybernet
Expo Webmaster event has stood the test of time, and proven
itself as a mainstay in this fickle industry of ours. If you
go by my theory, and attended the event in Montreal Spring
2003, then you know exactly what I'm talking about... |

Springtime
in the Southwest - Phoenix Forum
Preview
The Phoenix Forum set for April 1st - 3rd in the sunny southwest,
the shining jewel in a growing phenomenon, if you will, of
the mid-size webmaster event. Attracting webmasters in the
hundreds - rather than the thousands seen at the larger Expo-style
events, or the handfuls that attend the smaller regional gatherings
- this conference blends education, business, pleasure and
networking in unique and beneficial ways. This gathering started
small, originally known throughout the community as the Desert
Forum, but grew to attract over 500 webmasters and corporate
supporters at the 2003 event... |

AWM-Event
2003 - Klixxx Review
The event consists of Seminars, entertainment and performances
such as strip-shows, lotteries and the legendary all-night
party. But, most import is the business exhibition throughout
the entire day. Many well-known companies, and some very interesting
newcomers, are showing what they have to offer. Billing solutions,
Content, Law, the newest Telecommunications trends; these
are only a few of the varied themes of the seminars and official
discussions, of interest to all in the industry... |

Phoenix
Forum 2003 - Klixxx Review
Most webmasters have read the returning posts made by attendees
of various industry events. Everything "rocks" they say -
everything was SO worth it - and every show was the best yet.
Sometimes that's true - life, and any event - is what YOU
make it. But not every show is the awesome spectacle that
returning show-goers paint it to be. Unfortunately this makes
it tough for webmasters on a budget to decide which shows
are most cost effective, and worth the time taken away from
daily work to attend. Fortunately, the Phoenix Forum needs
no cheerleading OR pep squad. It is - pure and simple - a
real treat... |

The
Making of Many - Review by Barrymore
Dennison
The iridescent lighting radiates off the painted faces of
the pornographic passersby. Flash and Splash provide a formidable
flotilla of fanfare and flourish. Everything's for sale, and
yet nothing is real. It's just another convention, but the
stakes are high, and for many it will be all-or-nothing. The
wheelers-and-dealers disregard their own display of delectable
derrière. While others look-on oblivious to the parade of
erotica, there are those shocked silent and still, at the
sight of the splendid spectacle that surrounds them... |

Negril
Net Bash 2003 - Review by "Cyndalie"
There is something about the pace of Jamaica that has taught
me a few things about our industry, and how to bring warm
enticement back to discouraged clientele. There is something
about how one bad experience will make you never want to come
back to a certain place, or how having the wrong expectations
(too high or too low) can be either pleasing or detrimental
to your experience. Somewhere there is a common ground, a
plane we all come together on. I was there when that plane
landed, at the NegrilNet Bash in Jamaica... |

Event Networking 101 - by Kath Blackwell
Just as it would be financially impossible to advertise your webmaster service on each and every webmaster resource that comes down the pike, it's equally impossible to attend every webmaster conference. Some conferences are aimed at newbies, others at corporate programs, some are actually more for the adult industry fan- and still others encompass all of these traits. In the "more bang for your buck" category, the larger Internext Expo wins hands down. However, if your needs are more niched out, then perhaps attending one or more of the smaller events will better suit your tastes... |
